Fran works with SPEC and Connaissance and can answer any question about Student Life at Penn.
· Lynn Moller, Manager-Financial Services 898-6795, moller@pobox.upenn.edu
Lynn has all the answers for how to get speakers and bills paid by any group you may have co-sponsored an event with or can tell you the right person to talk to.
· Nancy Wright, Facilities Coordinator & Room Reservations 898-6535
You have to go through Nancy to make most room reservations on campus (not in the Quad) though you do have to fill out a form online. Make sure you confirm things with her several times leading up to the events.
To make specific reservations for rooms in Perelman Quad (the area around Houston Hall, Logan Hall, you can do so online at http://www.upenn.edu/perelmanquad/. Make sure you do so with plenty of advance time --- they can take up to 3 days to process a room reservation and they are also very busy!

Daily Pennsylvanian, 4015 Walnut Street:
Phone: 898-6581 Fax: 898-2050
The DP is Penns daily newspaper that students read religiously. Advertising for major programs is often done in the DP and costs between $80 and $1100 depending on the size you choose. You can also call the offices and let them know about an upcoming program, and often a reporter will be sent to cover the story. In addition, you can post things in the Campus Events section for free. The crossword puzzles in the DP are VERY popular with studentsthey can often be found doing them in classes. An organization can sponsor a puzzle for about $60 (cheaper than any ad) and advertise a program that way.
Kate is the staff contact for the DP. Ask her your questions about DP articles. Also, Penn Hillel has a contract with the DP so when you run an ad, you need to make sure it gets billed at the contract rate.
Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs,
High Rise North Room 108:
· Debra G. Bonaminio---Associate Director bonamini@pobox.upenn.edu
OFSA can provide policies and procedures necessary for Greek life programming. The OFSA office has mailboxes for the president of each house, which is a great place to put flyers. OFSA also can provide a list of all house presidents and their contact information.
Office of the Chaplain, 37th and Locust Walk
· Reverend William Gipson 898-8456, wgipson@pobox.upenn.edu
Reverend Gipson is an amazing resource for the religious community of all faiths at Penn. He works with Hillel often, and is happy to speak at events and facilitate interfaith discussion. He coordinates the Student Interfaith Council, a dialogue group, which was started 2 years ago and has been highly successful. Reverend Gibson also works with the Religious Life Liaisons, who have begun working with the Jewish Life Liaisons.
Max Covil is his assistant and he supervises the Religious Life Liaisons (RLL). I worked with him, on joint RLL-JLL programs. He can be reached at mcovil@pobox.upenn.edu or 573-4214.
LGBT Center (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Center)
3537 Locust Walk, Third Floor--215-898-5044
· Erin Cross, egcross@pobox.upenn.edu
The Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Center at PENN, supports PENN lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, staff, alumni and faculty and increases the general PENN community understanding and acceptance of its sexual and gender minority members. Hillel has begun to form a relationship with the Center that should be fostered.
Civic House, 3914 Locust (across from Hamilton, HRN) 898-4831
· David Grossman, grossman@pobox.upenn.edu
· Heather Kilmer, kilmer@pobox.upenn.edu
Civic House is the center for community service at Penn. It is a clearinghouse for students who want to volunteer, with a database and binders full of service opportunities. Civic House also coordinates the West Philadelphia Tutoring Project, through which hundreds of Penn students volunteer, and the Alternate Spring Break program that sends Penn students to 15 different cities to work over break. David, Sarah and Tamara are great resources in planning any type of service project. Civic House is a great place to hold meetings; keep in mind they have to be related to Community Service and Social Justice.
Penn Women Center, 3643 Locust Walk, 898-8611
The Womens Book Club held their meetings at the Penn Womens Center, which is a great space for more initimate programming. It can comfortably hold about 25 people in their downstairs living room. It is also a great resource and way to integrate Jewish programming into greater University programming. The Penn Womens Center (PWC) also fills up quickly, be sure to reserve your meeting at least a week or so in advance. I reserved the room by stopping in, or by calling them.
